Smoking, Stretching and Squatting Anthems

Today’spost is a bit different, as I decided to highlight some other articles and good reads that I’ve recently come across.  In a perfect world, I’ll beable to do this type of post every week or two, but we’ll see how things panout.  Hopefully the articles I post belowwill pique your interest, as they have mine!

Firstup, here’s an awesome article I came across this week on how smoking should be banned. Everywhere.

If this puppy wanted you to stop smoking...would you?

Ifyou remember from my first post, I said that smoking in public is probably oneof the rudest, most selfish acts someone can perform…and now here’s scientificproof!  If you don’t have time to give ita read, it basically says that quitting smoking will help lower heart attacksfor everyone, and save puppies from dying.  Ok,well, only the former is technically true, but give it a read!

After Smoking is Banned, Heart Attacks Drop

Nextup, here’s an article on static stretching from a few yearsback.  I’ve swung back and forth on the “stretchor not to stretch” scale as I believe both sides have some legitimatearguments.  As you can probably tell fromthe fact that I’m linking to this article, I’m currently in the “we probablydon’t need to stretch that much” frame of mind, but that we do it because it’swhat we’ve always done.  Anyway, here’ssome food for thought:

To Stretch or Not to Stretch

Lastly,I’m known for always talking about my “squatting music.”  What does that mean?  Well, say there’s a day you’re lackingmotivation or don’t quite think you’re up to the task of squatting with someheavy weight.  Hopefully, this song willcome out of your headphones, smack you square in the face, and enable you to perform the task at hand.

So,from here on out I’ll be posting a “squatting anthem of the week.”  This week's anthem?  Click below.
